COMMISSIONER WORK SESSION OF MAY 4, 2009
The Work Session of May 4, 2009 was called to order at 5:15 p.m. and the open public notice announcement was read by the Borough Administrator. In attendance were Commissioner Colombi, Commissioner Rochford and Commissioner Borden, the Administrator, the Solicitor and the Borough Clerk.
The duties/job description for the Library Advisory Committee members was discussed by the Commissioners. The Administrator announced that the architects will be at the Library on May 5th to begin taking measurements and finalize their fact finding research. Commissioner Rochford inquired as to how soon the Board should be interacting with the architects. The Commissioners agreed that it should be as soon as possible. This would be an introduction of the architects to the board members. The Solicitor asked what the specific duties of the Board will be. Commissioner Borden commented that the duties are a work in progress at this point. At the first meeting he feels that the architects should inform the Board of what the exact assignment consists of, steps that they follow and so forth. A schedule of meetings should be set up at that time. He feels that a second meeting in a month or so to review the progress to-date would be good with an additional meeting once the architects have prepared their report. Commissioner Rochford asked if there would be any voting by the Board or a report from them. Commissioner Colombi suggested leaving the timing for the second meeting to the architects. She also wanted to make sure that the Board is made aware of the background on the Library. The Borough Administrator pointed out that a key point to make is that the Board is the liaison between the public and the architects hired. One of the main things that they are to do is provide input on the possible needs of the community to the architects. Commissioner Rochford indicated that this discussion has provided him with enough information to be able to talk to the board members and give them appropriate direction.
Commissioner Borden updated the Commissioners on two incidents that occurred over the weekend involving underage drinking.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:40 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Deanna Bennett
Borough Clerk
