DATE CHANGE – REGULAR COMMISSIONERS MEETING
The next regular Commissioners meeting has been moved from Tuesday, April 10 to Thursday, April 5 at 7:30, in the court room on the first floor of Borough Hall.

OVERNIGHT PARKING DISCUSSION
Due to the meeting date change noted above, the topic of overnight parking for public discussion is also changed from April 10 to April 5 during this meeting. The public is encouraged to attend and share viewpoints, concerns and ideas on the topic.

HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION OPENING
There is a vacancy on the Historic Preservation Commission. Anyone interested in volunteering for the Board should go the Borough website for more information and to apply: www.haddonfieldnj.org/borough_volunteer-board.php

SPRING VEGETATIVE WASTE PICK-UP
Vegetative waste will be picked daily starting the week of April 2 and continuing through the last Friday in October. Vegetative waste must be in brown paper bags or trash cans. Do not use plastic bags – they will not be picked up.

SPRING LEAF COLLECTION AND CHIPPER SCHEDULE
Leaf collection will take place during the second and fourth weeks in April. This is the only spring leaf collection that will take place. After the leaf trucks have completed their passes, all leaves must be placed in recyclable paper bags or in cans marked for vegetative waste.

The Chipper will be out during the first and third week of April; and from May through October during the first full week of each month.

MUNICIPAL BUDGET INTRODUCED
The Commissioners introduced the Municipal Budget for the 2012 year. The budget will be published in the April 6, 2012 issue of The Retrospect.

A public hearing on the Budget and Tax Resolution will be held in the Borough Hall auditorium on April 18, 2012 at 7:30pm. The public is encouraged to attend and provide their input, thoughts and feedback on the budget.

CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS
The Commissioners approved a bond ordinance for various capital improvements within the borough, including:

Repairs and improvements to various roads, buildings and sidewalks;
Replacing and upgrading the Haddon/Tanner/Euclid traffic light;
Development of the Stiles Avenue parking lot;
The acquisition of various public works equipment;
The Correction of drainage issues where needed.

WATER & SEWER UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS
The Commissioners have approved a bond to be used for the water and sewer utility improvements, including: a Euclid Avenue pump station consisting of installation of a grinder, removal of electrical panels; the installation of an emergency by-pass pump; Grove Street Phase III consisting of the replacement of the sanitary main from Farwood to Longwood, including an under drain system; demolition of the Longwood pump station and repaving and design of 2013 utility work, including all related costs.

MARCH 27 BID AUTHORIZATIONS
The Following Bids were authorized for receipt by the Borough:

Emergency Sewer Main Repairs to be received on or before Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 10:00 am in Room 103 at the Haddonfield Borough Hall;

Water & Sewer Lateral Work to be received on or before Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 10:30 am in Room 103 at the Haddonfield Borough Hall;

2011 (Year 33) CDBG Curb Cuts at Various Locations to be received on or before Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 10:45 am in Room 103 at the Haddonfield Borough Hall;

Mechanic Street & Clement Street Historic Preservation and Streetscape Improvements to be received on or before Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 11:00 am in Room 103 at the Haddonfield Borough Hall.

FIRST FRIDAYS 2012
The Commissioners authorized the Partnership for Haddonfield to continue to sponsor “First Friday” events in 2012 on the following Fridays: April 6, May 4, June 1, July 6, August 3, September 7, and October 5 of 2012 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Kings Highway. The events will feature artists, vendors and entertainment of all ages.

PUBLIC PROPERTY AVAILABLE FREE TO A GOOD HOME
The Borough recently put up for auction a red leather office/conference chair on old-fashioned small castor wheels, probably purchased sometime in the mid-1970’s. This item was not sold at auction. Therefore, if any of our residents are interested in taking a look at this chair, they can call or come into the Administration office (Room 101, 856-429-4700, ext.200) to find out more information or inspect this piece.

CORRECTION TO HYDRANT FLUSHING SCHEDULE
There is a correction to the Hydrant Flushing Program schedule published in the March 15 Municipal Matters. In April the Haddonfield Water Department will be flushing fire hydrants between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The corrected schedule is as follows:

April – 3, 4, 5, 6: The Area South of Kings Highway, West of the High Speedline
April – 10, 11, 12, 13: The Area North of Kings Highway, West of the High Speedline
April – 17, 18, 19, 20: The Area North of Kings Highway, East of the High Speedline
April – 24, 25, 26, 27: The Area South of Kings Highway, East of the High Speedline
