Haddonfield’s Tricentennial Tree Sale
The Haddonfield Shade Tree Commission’s Tricentennial Tree Sale program allows residents to purchase a selection of ornamental and shade trees for planting in the home garden or for donating to the town for streetside or public park plantings. Tips from Camden County Mosquito Commission
Camden County’s Mosquito Commission does spraying on public roads throughout the County during the breeding season to knock down adult mosquito populations.  In addition, inspectors are on the job every day to lessen the occurrence of mosquito breeding.  But the frontline to mosquito control is you.  Tips on how to fight the battle of the Buzz and how to make sure your property doesn’t become a breeding ground for mosquitoes is available at www.camdencounty.com.

Approved Fire Company Appointment
The Commissioners have approved the appointment of Mike Ruggero to the Haddon Fire Company No. 1.

Antique Car Show to Take Place in September
The Ankokas Antique Auto Club will host an Antique Auto Show on Saturday, September 21, 2013 from 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. on Kings Highway with a rain date of Saturday, September 28. Highway from Haddon Avenue to PATCO will closed from 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 21. All retailers within the business district are authorized to display merchandise outdoors from 10 a.m.05 p.m.

October Fall Festival
The Commissioners cordially invite everyone to the annual Fall Festival, Saturday, October 19, 2013 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. (rain date Sunday, October 20, noon -5 p.m.). Local charitable organizations and food vendors will participate in this event taking place along Kings Highway between Haddon Avenue and Chestnut Street. Carriage rides, merchandise displays, entertainment and craft tables will all be a part of the Fall Festival.

Fall “Girls’ Night Out!”
The Partnership of Haddonfield will sponsor a “Girls’ Night Out!” event on Thursday, October 3, 2013 from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. Area shops and boutiques will be offering discounts on their merchandise as well as food and beverage specials. DJ entertainment will also be provided. 

 September First Friday to Include Artisan Displays
The commissioners have authorized retailers to display their artisan products outside of their stores on one table with a tablecloth during the September 6 First Friday between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Bid Requests
The commissioners are requesting  bids for “Curb and Crosswalk Painting” to be received on or before Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at 10 a.m. in Room 103 of the Haddonfield Borough Hall.

Bid Awards
The following bids have been awarded:

  • Concord Engineering, 520 South Burnt Mill Road, Voorhees, New Jersey 08043 for energy audit services;
  • Lexa Concrete, 1820 Vine Road, Vineland, New Jersey 08361 for FY2012-2013 NJDOT Trust Fund Reconstruction of Euclid Avenue.

 Authorization to Release Maintenance Bonds
The commissioners have authorized maintenance bonds to be released for the following:

  • Ivymont Construction, Inc for the Woodland Avenue Utility Replacement Project;
  • PACT Construction, Inc for the Tanner Street Utility Replacement Project.

Authorization to Release Performance Bond
The commissioners have authorized a performance bond be released to Asphalt Paving Systems, Inc. for the 2012 Road Program.

Authorization to Participate in Camden County Corporative Pricing System
The commissioners have awarded deer carcass removal services to Deer Carcass Removal Service, P.O. Box 328, Cream Ridge, New Jersey 08514.

Sustainable JerseyMunicipal Certification Program
The Borough of Haddonfield  has been authorized to participate in the Sustainable Jersey Municipal Certification Program. The program will allow the Borough to focus attention and effort within the municipality on matters of sustainability, and allow them to pursue local initiatives and actions that will lead to Sustainable Jersey Municipal Certification.

Grant Award Accepted
The commissioners have accepted a sub-grant award for the EMPG Exercise Pass Thru from the new Jersey State Police Office of Emergency Management. The sub-grant’s purpose is to enhance Haddonfield’s ability to respond to and recover from acts of terrorism, natural disasters and other catastrophic events and emergencies.

Mayor Kasko will be available for questions and comments every other Wednesday afternoon, starting on September 4 from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. in Borough Hall. Haddonfield’s Rules for Dog Walking
The Commissioners want to remind residents of the rules regarding walking your dogs and disposing property of their waste:

  • All dogs must be on a leash when being walked on public streets; no pet is permitted to roam un-leashed in Haddonfield
  • Pet owners or anyone who takes their pet for walks must properly dispose of their pet’s waste by picking it up, wrapping it and either placing it in the trash or flushing it unwrapped down the toilet.

Residents are reminded to sign up to receive important e-mail notices, reminders and alerts from the Borough.  This system can be used to alert those who are registered to impending deadlines (for the payment of taxes, pet license fee, etc.), and to public safety situations.
