VEGETATIVE WASTE PICK-UP SCHEDULE:
January— the week of the 20th—24th
February—the week of 17th — 21th

Christmas trees can be put out the first and third week of January.

Chipper Truck—From January thru March, the chipper truck will only run on the first full trash week of the month, beginning on the first Monday of the month.

School Board Recognition Month
January has been proclaimed ‘School Board Recognition Month’ by the New Jersey State Board of Education and Haddonfield commissioners to recognize and show appreciation for local school board members, past and present, who are dedicated to the academic, athletic and social achievements and well-being of the children.

MLK Day Observance Jan. 20 – Theme is “What is Your Dream?”
The Borough’s Human Relations Commission (HRC) will again commemorate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, January 20. A brief candlelight ceremony will be held on the steps of Borough Hall at 7 p.m. The mayor and commissioners, Boy Scouts and HRC members will participate and then lead a procession to the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church (Lincoln and Douglass Avenues). The program at the church will include remarks, song selections from the HMHS choir and a presentation of the HRC’s “What is Your Dream for Haddonfield?” program. Students from all schools in Haddonfield are writing their responses to this question on poster boards over the next two weeks – and they will be displayed that night. Refreshments and light snacks will be served.

Cash Management Plan
Every local unit, according to the Local Fiscal Affairs Law, is required to adopt a ‘Cash Management Plan’ and must deposit public funds pursuant to the plan, into interest bearing accounts.

Official Newspaper for Legal Notices
The Retrospect will serve as the official weekly newspaper for legal advertising for Haddonfield. The Courier Post will serve as the alternate official newspaper.

Approved Appointments
The Commissioners have approved the following appointments
Dean J. Buono, Esq., Prosecutor, which expires December 2014.
Charles Wigginton, Esq., Public Defender, which expires December 2014.
Jean Phillips, CMCA, Court Administrator, which expires December 2014.

Bid Authorization
The following bid was authorized for receipt by the Borough:
For a Consultant to Create a Green/Sustainable Element for the Master Plan to be received on or before Friday, February 7, 2014 at 3 p.m. Room 101 of the Haddonfield Borough Hall.

Love Is In the Air, February 1-14
The Love is in the Air shopping event will once again take place throughout our downtown shopping district. From Saturday, February 1 through Friday, February 14, participating shops and restaurants will offer special and discounts; and shopping district-wide gift certificates will be discounted 10%. We invite you to join the fun and support our downtown business owners.

February is Black History Month
The Commissioners would like to remind everyone that February is Black History Month and invite our community to recognize the achievements of so many who have paved the way for freedom and equality for all.

Haddonfield’s Rules for Parking
The Commissioners want to remind residents of the rules regarding parking your vehicles.
All cars parked in driveways must not block the public sidewalks.
If you must park on the street, please call the police department at 429-3000 and let them know you will be parking your car there overnight.

Haddonfield’s Rules for Dog Walking
The Commissioners want to remind residents of the rules regarding walking your dogs and disposing property of their waste:
All dogs must be on a leash when being walked on public streets; no pet is permitted to roam un-leashed in Haddonfield
Pet owners or anyone who takes their pet for walks must properly dispose of their pet’s waste by picking it up, wrapping it and either placing it in the trash or flushing it unwrapped down the toilet.

Residents are reminded to sign up to receive important e-mail notices, reminders and alerts from the Borough. This system can be used to alert those who are registered to impending deadlines (for the payment of taxes, pet license fee, etc.), and to public safety situations. To sign up, visit www.haddonfieldnj.org and look for a box titled” E-news from the Borough.
