Water and Sewer Rate Ordinance Introduced
An ordinance changing the increasing the rates charged for sewer and water fee was introduced on Tuesday, January 11th.  The ordinance also creates a three tier rate structure.  Please be on the lookout for a letter which has been mailed out which explains the changes.  A public meeting is scheduled for February 6th at 7:00 pm in the auditorium of Borough Hall for anyone who has questions or concerns.  Public comment will also be taken at the Public Hearing for the ordinance which is scheduled for the Commissioners meeting on February 11th at 7:30 pm.

 

VEGETATIVE WASTE PICK-UP SCHEDULE:
February—the week of 17th — 21st 
March—the week of 17th —21st

Chipper Truck—From January thru March, the chipper truck will only run on the first full trash week of the month, beginning on the first Monday of the month. 

15 Minute Parking Pilot Program
The Commissioners have approved a 15 minute parking pilot program starting February 1 during which a 15-minute parking limited will be enacted for the first two parking spaces southbound on S. Haddon Ave, after the intersection with Kings Highway. This allowance will be in effect for a six-month trial period to monitor its effectiveness.

Approved Appointments
The Commissioners approved the following appointments to the Camden County Community Development Board of Directors from January 1 through December 31, 2014:

  • Mayor: Jeff Kasko
  • Representative: Steve Walko
Approved Event Permits
The borough has approved permits for the following events:
  • Canuso Foundation, Chicken Run’s At Midnight, May 2, 2014
  • Haddonfield Garden Club, Annual Herb & Perennial Sale, May 10, 2104
  • Elizabeth Haddon PTA, 5K Run/Walk, May 17, 2014
  • County of Gloucester, Jonas Cattel Run, October 19, 2014
Municipal Alliances Grant Extension
The borough has approved a grant extension for the Municipal Alliances for the Prevention of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse to June 30 of this year in order to transition the grant to a fiscal year cycle. The Municipal Alliances was established in 1989 to educate and engage residents, local government and law enforcement officials, schools, non-profit organizations, the faith community, parents, youth and other allies in efforts to prevent alcoholism and drug abuse in communities throughout New Jersey.

 

Professional Services Agreement – Feasibility Study
The Commissioners have authorized an agreement with the Center for Government Research to act as a Feasability Consultant to conduct a Police Administration Shared Services Study.

Re-Bid Request – Grove Street Utility Replacement Project
The Commissioners have authorized a bid request for the Grove Street Utility Replacement Project to be received on or before Tuesday, February 11 at 10:30 a.m. in room 103 of Haddonfield Borough Hall. The borough has rejected all previous bid made for the Grove Street Utility Replacement as the lowest bid withdrew and the remaining bidders were over budget.

Love Is In the Air, February 1-14
The Love is in the Air shopping event will once again take place throughout our downtown shopping district. From Saturday, February 1 through Friday, February 14, participating shops and restaurants will offer special and discounts; and shopping district-wide gift certificates will be discounted 10%. We invite you to join the fun and support our downtown business owners.

 

February is Black History Month
The Commissioners would like to remind everyone that February is Black History Month and invite our community to recognize the achievements of so many who have paved the way for freedom and equality for all.

Public Online Auction
A public auction on a number of Motorola handheld UHF radios and UHF mobile radio – no longer in need or use by the Borough – will be help at www.publicsurplus.com. Please visit the website if you are interested in bidding on these items.
