Historic District Ordinance Review
There will be a public meeting held on June 24th at 7:00 pm in the auditorium of Borough Hall to discuss the historic district ordinance.  All members of the public are welcome to attend and provide input.

Flag Day
The commissioners have declared that Friday, June 14, 2013 as Flag Day and the week beginning June 9, 2013 as National Flag Week.

Parking Ordinances
From April 1 to October 31 there will be no parking will be permitted on the West side of Prospect Road from Springfield Terrace to the south end of Prospect Road from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Approved Appointments
The commissioners have approved Commissioner John Moscatelli to be appointed to the Planning Board for a term expiring in May 2017.

Fireworks Display
The commissioners have authorized the Borough of Haddonfield and the Haddonfield Celebration Association a permit to host a fireworks display on July 3, 2013 between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m., with a rain date of July 6, 2013.

Annual Sidewalk Sale
The commissioners have granted permission to the Partnership for Haddonfield to host the Annual Sidewalk Sale August 1-3, 2013. Shops in downtown Haddonfield have therefore been granted permission to utilize the public sidewalks for displays, with the exception of food sales. No food displays or vendors will be permitted to use the sidewalks during the annual sidewalk sale. Outdoor entertainment will also be permitted along the sidewalks of Haddonfield.

Ribbon Cutting 
The commissioners have granted permission for the Partnership for Haddonfield to host a ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, June 15, 2013 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mechanic and Clement Streets. Bands, a photo booth, cotton candy and popcorn machines, and face painters are all permitted to utilize the sidewalks on Mechanic and Clement Streets. Streamers are permitted on the lampposts downtown and balloon bouquets are permitted outside of stores.

Event Permits
The following groups have been awarded permits to hold events in the Borough of Haddonfield:

  • Irish Pub Children’s Foundation, Irish Pub Tour de Shore, July 28, 2013
  • Friends of the Library, Quilt Display, October 19, 2013

Authorization to Display Merchandise
The commissioners have authorized English Gardener Gift Shop, 123 Kings Highway East, to display merchandise outside of their store.

Authorization to Request Proposals
The commissioners have authorized the Borough’s Registered Public Purchasing Specialist to distribute the State approved Energy Audit Request for Proposal to a State approved list of vendors for the Borough of Haddonfield. The proposal is to be received on or before Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in Room 101 of the Haddonfield Borough Hall.

Authorization to Advertise for Sealed Bids
The commissioners have authorized the Borough’s Registered Public Purchasing Specialist to advertise for the receipt of sealed bids for the “Replacement of Truck Side Load Recycle Body with Rear Load Compactor”. All sealed bids must be received on or before June 25, 2013 at 10 a.m. in Room 103 of the Haddonfield Borough Hall.

Authorization to Sign Agreement for Sculpture
The commissioners have authorized the appropriate officials to sign an agreement with the Haddonfield Outdoor Sculpture Trust, LLC, to give permission to Stuart Harting and Miguel Antonio Horn to install works of art at various public locations on Mechanic and Clement Streets to enhance the beauty of Haddonfield.

Performance Bond Release Authorizations
The commissioners have authorized performance bonds to be released for the following:

  • Diehl Electric for the Haddon & Euclid Avenue and Tanner Street Traffic Signal Improvements
  • Lexa Concrete, LLC for the concrete improvements to Cedar Avenue, Farwood Road and Longwood Drive.

Maintenance Bond Authorizations
The commissioners have authorized a maintenance bond to be released to Bud Concrete, Inc. for the Kings Court Plaza Reconstruction.

Haddonfield’s Rules for Dog Walking
The Commissioners want to remind residents of the rules regarding walking your dogs and disposing property of their waste:

  • All dogs must be on a leash when being walked on public streets; no pet is permitted to roam un-leashed in Haddonfield
  • Pet owners or anyone who takes their pet for walks must properly dispose of their pet’s waste by picking it up, wrapping it and either placing it in the trash or flushing it unwrapped down the toilet.

First Fridays 2013 
The Partnership for Haddonfield to will continue to sponsor “First Friday” events in 2013 on June 7, July 5, August 2, and September 6 of 2013 from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. on Kings Highway. The events will feature artists, vendors and entertainment for all ages. Come out and enjoy the warm-weather fun!
