4th of July
Fireworks will be held on Friday, July 3, 2015. Residents are welcome to watch the display from the High School field. Fireworks will begin at dusk (approximately 9:30 pm). Gates open at 7:00 pm. There is no charge for admission but donations for Haddonfield Celebrations Association are gladly accepted. Haddonfield Celebrations Association sponsors many community events throughout the year.

Entertainment will be provided beginning at 7:30 pm by the Shore Thing. Refreshments, hot dogs and pretzels will be sold at the Lions Club tent in the end zone. Please note food and beverages are not allowed on the turf field. Similarly, no chairs are allowed on the field, blankets only.

The parade will be held Saturday, July 4 beginning at 10:00 am on Kings Highway at Chestnut Street. Information regarding these events can be found at www.haddonfieldcelebrations.org.

Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm for billing questions, non-emergency and emergency calls. This number should also be used for all emergency calls from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am.

NJAW has personnel at Borough Hall on Tuesdays from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm each week to answer any questions you may have during this transition time.

Human Relations Commission Student Representatives Recognized
The Commissioners recognized past student representatives Jessica Blau and Jillian Stone for their participation in Human Relations Commission initiatives with enthusiasm, dedication, and perfect attendance, and for making significant contributions to the Schomer Award, MLK Dream Board project, and MLK Walk and Essay Contest.

2014 Audit Report Accepted
A report of Findings and Recommendations for the 2014 Borough Audit includes no current findings and successful correction of the 2013 findings. A copy of the audit will be available on the Borough website. The Commissioners voted to accept and advertise the 2014 audit report at their June 23 meeting.

New Jersey Apartment Association Charitable Fund Amazing Race
Commissioners approved the use of Kings Court as a registration location for New Jersey Apartment Association Charitable Fund. They are hosting their Amazing Race scavenger hunt throughout town on Thursday, September 3.

Summer Commissioner Meeting Schedule
The Commissioners meet only one day a month in the months of July and August. The scheduled meeting dates are Tuesday, July 21, 2015 and Tuesday, August 18, 2015, both at 7:30 p.m. Work Sessions are also scheduled for these dates at 3 p.m.

Rotary Club Concerts
The Commissioners authorized the Rotary Club of Haddonfield to hold its Friday Night Concerts on July 10, 17, 24, 31.

Bid Awards
The bid for Solid Waste and Recyclable Materials Collection Services was awarded to Waste Management of NJ, 107 Silvia Street, Ewing, NJ.

The bid for the 2015 Road Program was awarded to Asphalt Paving Systems, 500 Egg Harbor Road, Hammonton, NJ.

The bid for N. Haddon Avenue Parking Lot Improvements was awared to American Asphalt Company Inc., 116 Main Street, W. Collingswood, NJ.

-For a “Rear Loader Refuse Truck” to be received on or before Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 10 a.m. in Room 102 of the Haddonfield Borough Hall.

-For a “Towable Brush Chipper/Shredder” to be received on or before Tuesday, July 15, 2015 at 10:15 a.m. in Room 102 of the Haddonfield Borough Hall.

Mutual Aid and Assistance Agreement
The Commissioners authorized Borough officials to enter into the Camden County Mutual Aid and Assistance Agreement Between Participating Units, which will provide additional protection for the community’s police, fire and EMS departments against loss, damage or destruction by fire, catastrophe, civil unrest, major emergency and other extraordinary devastation, damage or destruction to personal and property.

Shared Services Agreement –Grove Street Island
A Shared Services Agreement was authorized between the Borough and Camden County relative to the construction and maintenance of the island at Grove Street

Summer Sidewalk Sale
Haddonfield’s annual Summer Sidewalk Sale will be held in from Thursday, August 6 to Sunday, August 9 throughout Downtown Haddonfield. The Sidewalk Sale will include shopping, food, and live entertainment. A Trolley/Bus will also provide transportation throughout the town with stops on Haddon Avenue, Mechanic Street, Ellis Street, Tanner Street, and Kings Highway.

Crafts & Fine Arts Festival
This two-day outdoor festival, which garners national attention and attracts crowds of more than 100,000 people, will be held Saturday, July 11 from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Sunday, July 12 from noon – 5 p.m. along Kings Highway between Washington Avenue and Haddon Avenue and along Tanner Street to Euclid Avenue. Artisans will exhibit a wide range of arts and crafts, including ceramics, glass, jewelry, wood, fiber, metal, paper, drawings, paintings, photography and wearable art. What is usually a busy main artery through the center of town is transformed into a festive corridor, alive with a panorama of artists’ tents, outdoor cafés, musicians and more. This free event will also have free parking in Haddonfield during the two-day festival.

Haddonfield’s Rules for Parking
The Commissioners want to remind residents of the rules regarding parking your vehicles.
All cars parked in driveways must not block the public sidewalks.
If you must park on the street, please call the police department at 429-3000 and let them know you will be parking your car there overnight.

Haddonfield’s Rules for Dog Walking
The Commissioners want to remind residents of the rules regarding walking your dogs and disposing property of their waste:
All dogs must be on a leash when being walked on public streets; the Crows Woods Nature Preserve and in any park area; no pet is permitted to roam un-leashed in Haddonfield
Pet owners or anyone who takes their pet for walks must properly dispose of their pet’s waste by picking it up, wrapping it and either placing it in the trash or flushing it unwrapped down the toilet.
