2015 Budget Introduction

In 2015, the Borough Commissioners proposed a budget with a local purpose tax rate of 48.7 cents per $100 of assessed property valuation. The tax rate remained the same as last year despite a $2.2 million dollar loss in ratables. The Borough tax is a little more than 16% of your total real estate tax bill. The proposed 2015 Borough budget is $16,255,241.00 of which $10,130,522.71 will be raised through property taxes. The 2015 budget, minus grant expenditures, increases $914,204 or 5.98% over the 2014 budget. The amount to be raised by taxation is decreasing $19,386. The 2015 budget will be published in The Retrospect in the May 15, 2015 issue.
