Election Results
Based upon the election results, Jeff Kasko, John Moscatelli, and Neal P. Rochford are elected as Commissioner for the Borough of Haddonfield for a four year term, ending on the third Tuesday in May of 2017.

Appointment of the Mayor
Commissioner Jeffrey S. Kasko has been chosen and elected the Board of Commissioners as the new Mayor of the Borough of Haddonfield.

Appointment of Deputy Mayor
Commissioner John Moscatelli is chosen and elected by the Board of Commissioners as the new Deputy Mayor of the Borough of Haddonfield.

Assignment of Commissioners 
The following Commissioners were assigned as  the directors of the following departments:

Board of Commissioners Scheduled Meetings
The Board has designated the second and fourth Tuesday of each month the time for regular meetings from May 28, 2013 through May 16, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. From May 28, 2013 through May 16, 2017 at 7 p.m. a work session will be held by the Commissioners preceding each regular meeting on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. Additionally, work sessions will be held at 6 p.m. on the Monday prior to the regular meetings. Meetings and work sessions will be held at the Municipal Hall, 242 Kings Highway East, Haddonfield, New Jersey.

No Parking Ordinance
The Commissioners have had first reading on an ordinance that will provide for no parking on Prospect Road from Springfield Terrace to the south end of Prospect Road, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, April 1 thru October 31.

Water Use Restrictions
The Commissioner of Public Works advises that from June 14, 2013 to September 2, 2013 the following mandatory restrictions may be enforced based on the conditions of water use and availability and are subject to any future resolutions by the Board;
Level I:            Prohibition of outdoor use of potable water from the Haddonfield water system between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Level II:           If conditions affecting the health and safety of the public is further jeopardized by water use, an additional prohibition of outdoor watering during the 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. period on alternate days, such that properties with odd numbered addresses are allowed to water only on odd numbered calendar dates and properties with even numbered addresses are allowed to water only on even numbered dates.

Level III:          The prohibition of all outdoor watering within the Borough of Haddonfield, due to ongoing conditions affecting the health and safety of the public.

Upcoming Tatem Events
The Tatem Elementary School PTA & Tatem Trailblazer 5K Walk/Run will take place on October 5, 2013.

Bid Requests 
The following bid requests have been:

  • “Tree Removal Services” for the Borough of Haddonfield, to be received on or before Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 10 a.m. in Room 103 of the Haddonfield Borough Hall.
  • “Air Compressor and Bottle File Station at Fire Department” for the Borough of Haddonfield’ to be received on or before Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 10:15 a.m. in Room 103 of the Haddonfield Borough Hall.

Professional Auditor Services
The Board has authorized the Borough of Haddonfield to sign an agreement with Bowman & Company LLP as the Borough Auditor under the same terms as the 2011 proposal effective for one year.

Authorization to Extend Services for Materials Collection
The Board has extended a contract to Casworth Enterprises, Inc., 449 Caufield Avenue, Deptford New Jersey 08096 for the Solid Waste and Recyclable Materials Collection Service for the Borough of Haddonfield effective on July 1, 2013 and ending June 30, 2014.

Bid Award for Pot Hole Repairs
Based on the bid submitted by May 23, 2013, the Commissioners have awarded a contract to Diamond Construction, 35 Beaverson Boulevard, Brick, New Jersey 08723, for the Pot Hole Repairs in the Borough of Haddonfield

Authorization to Sign Grant Agreement
The Board of Commissioners have authorized the Borough of Haddonfield to sign and agreement to obtain funds from the State of New Jersey form the Department of Environmental Protection Division of Parks and Forestry to fund the Borough of Haddonfield, 2013 CSIP Assessment/ Inventory Grant Project.

Flag Day 2013
Haddonfield’s Flag Day 2013 will be held on Friday, June 14 at 6:30 p.m. in Kings Court near the Gazebo. The Flag ceremony will take place with the Borough, American Legion and Boy Scout representatives and follow with brief remarks by the Borough Commissioners, a Pledge of Allegiance and songs with Kindergarten and pre-school students and will also include light refreshments. All Haddonfield residents, especially Kindergarten and pre-school students, along with their parents, are encouraged to attend.

2012 Water Quality Reports
The 2012 Water Quality Reports for the Borough of Haddonfield will be mailed to all residents on or around June 7, 2013. If you have questions or do not receive one, please call Public Works at 429-0183.

National Historic Preservation Month 
The Commissioners have proclaimed May to be National Historic Preservation Month where historic preservation will be recognized as a tool for managing growth and sustainable development, revitalization of neighborhoods, fostering local pride and maintaining community character while enhancing livability. The theme for National Historic Preservation Month for May 2013 is “Discover America’s Hidden Gems” sponsored by the National Trust for Historic Preservation Society.

Girls’ Night Out! In June
The Partnership for Haddonfield’s Marketing Committee will host another fun-filled, ladies’ night of shopping, wine, food and fun during Girls’ Night Out! Friday June 7, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Downtown Haddonfield. Girls’ Night Out! kicks off the summer fashion season in Haddonfield with many of the town’s shops and boutiques offering in-store events, discounts and more. Stores will be offering 20% or more off select merchandise and in some cases, the entire store, for this event.

Haddonfield’s Rules for Dog Walking
The Commissioners want to remind residents of the rules regarding walking your dogs and disposing property of their waste:

  • All dogs must be on a leash when being walked on public streets; no pet is permitted to roam un-leashed in Haddonfield
  • Pet owners or anyone who takes their pet for walks must properly dispose of their pet’s waste by picking it up, wrapping it and either placing it in the trash or flushing it unwrapped down the toilet.

First Fridays 2013 
The Partnership for Haddonfield to will continue to sponsor “First Friday” events in 2013 on June 7, July 5, August 2, and September 6 of 2013 from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. on Kings Highway. The events will feature artists, vendors and entertainment for all ages. Come out and enjoy the warm-weather fun!
