Fire Training Graduates
Haddon Fire Company No. 1 has announced that 13 volunteer firefighters, including all 10 fire department officers, recently completed the 16-week Fire Officer I and Fire Officer II management course administered by the Camden County Fire Academy. In addition, they are now qualified for Fire Officer I and II certification in the state.
The focus of the course was leadership and management skills to enhance decision-making in emergencies. Certification demonstrates professionalism and proficiency while also protecting against liability.
Those completing the course were Chief Joe Riggs, Asst. Chief Sam Trotman, Captains Joe Wells and Lou Frontino, Lieutenants Rich Kahl, Wil Schaub, Kyle Graeber, Jeff Mirabello, Craig Jordan and Tim Green, and firefighters Mike Miller, Kyle Hagan and Tom Trotman.

Cardboard Clarification
Commissioners want to clarify the process for the collection of cardboard. The proper way to recycle cardboard is to place it in the red or blue recycling containers provided by the borough. Boxes must be cut into two or three pieces and bundled together. Trash collectors will not pick up cardboard meant for recycling that is left by the curbside.

Commissioners have authorized a number of upcoming events:
The Ankokas Antique Car Club will sponsor an Antique Auto Show September 11 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Kings Highway. The road will be closed from Haddon Avenue to PATCO from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.

The Partnership for Haddonfield was granted approval to conduct a “Haddonfield Wedding Walk” on September 26 from noon to 4 p.m. in the commercial district. Commissioners approved a trolly for the event to travel on Kings Highway, making periodic stops and starting and stopping at the Haddon Fortnightly.
