Water and Sewer Rates

The Commissioners announced an increase to the water and sewer rates. The rates will go into effect during the billing for second quarter of 2014. Additionally the service fee will now be $12.50 per quarter rather than $10 per quarter.2014 water rates, starting with second quarter usage:

  • Tier 1 – $5.60 per thousand gallons up to 8,000 gallons per quarter
  • Tier 2 – $7.06 per thousand gallons between 8,001 and 40,000 gallons per quarter
  • Tier 3 – $7.84 per thousand gallons over 40,001 gallons per quarter

2014 sewer rates starting with second quarter usage;

  • Tier 1 – $2.69 per thousand gallons of water furnished up to 8,000 gallons per quarter
  • Tier 2 – $3.39 per thousand gallons of water furnished between 8,001 and 40,000 gallons per quarter
  • Tier 3 – $3.77 per thousand gallons of water furnished over 40,001 gallons per quarter

Recycling Tonnage Grant
The Commissioners approved the submission of the recycling tonnage grant application to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and designated John Allsebrook to ensure that the application is filed properly. The Mandatory Source Separation and Recycling Act of 1987 established the recycling fund from which tonnage grants may be made to municipalities in order to encourage local source separation and recycling programs.

Bid Request  – Asphalt Street Patching and Miscellaneous Concrete Replacement
A bid request has been authorized for the Asphalt Street Patching and Miscellaneous Concrete Replacement to be received on or before Thursday, February 27 at 10a.m. in room 103 of Haddonfield Borough Hall.

Reporting Potholes
The weather this year has been especially hard on the roadways, and there will be a larger than normal number of potholes because of the conditions.  The Borough of Haddonfield is beginning to accumulate a list so that we may go out to bid for filling these potholes as soon as weather permits. Please report potholes on the website by filling out the form here: http://www.haddonfieldnj.org/borough_dept_pw.php#pothole.

Public Online Auction
A public auction on a number of Motorola handheld UHF radios and UHF mobile radios – no longer in need or use by the Borough – is being held at www.publicsurplus.com. Please visit the website if you are interested in bidding on these items.

15 Minute Parking Pilot Program
The Commissioners have approved a 15 minute parking pilot program starting February 1 during which a 15-minute parking limited will be enacted for the first two parking spaces southbound on S. Haddon Ave, after the intersection with Kings Highway. This allowance will be in effect for a six-month trial period to monitor its effectiveness.

American Heart Month 
February is American Heart Month and Haddonfield residents are invited to wear red during the month to support women who have been touched by heart disease; and join the American Heart Association in encouraging all men and women to take charge of their cardiovascular health, pay attention to their hearts and reduce their risk for cardiovascular disease.

American Heart Month is a time to educate all about matters of the heart, a time to intensify awareness, knowledge and prevention of cardiovascular disease, as well as all that can be done to help reduce disability and death from America’s number one killer.

February is Black History Month
The Commissioners would like to remind everyone that February is Black History Month and invite our community to recognize the achievements of so many who have paved the way for freedom and equality for all.

Residents are reminded to sign up to receive important e-mail notices, reminders and alerts from the Borough.  This system can be used to alert those who are registered to impending deadlines (for the payment of taxes, pet license fee, etc.), and to public safety situations.
