VEGETATIVE WASTE PICK-UP SCHEDULE:
January— the week of the 20th—24th
February—the week of the 16th—20th

Christmas Trees—removal all ornaments, tinsel, lights, etc. Do not place in plastic bag. Pick up will be the first and third week in January.

Chipper Truck—From January thru March, the chipper truck will only run on the first full trash week of the month, beginning on the first Monday of the month.

** The Chipper truck is currently out of order and is being serviced. Christmas trees are being picked up and taken to one location where they will be chipped at a future date.

Leaf season is over-All leaves must be placed in vegetative waste barrels or in paper bags and put out the week of vegetative waste. Public Works will NOT come pick up leaf piles left at the curb or in the street.

Haddonfield is preparing a Green Building & Environmental Sustainability Element of the Master Plan. This “Sustainability Element” is the next step in Haddonfield reducing its environmental footprint, improving quality of life and promoting continued prosperity. Pet licenses are now due for 2015. Applications can be found on the Borough website or in person at the Borough Hall, Information Center, or Public Library. A late fee will be added after January 31.

School Board Recognition Month – January 2015
The Commissioners and the New Jersey State Board of Education proclaim January 2015 as School Board Recognition Month and recognizes contributions of the local school board members, past and present, and expresses with sincerest appreciation their dedication to the academic, athletic and social achievements and well-being of the children of our community.

Auxiliary Police Appointment
The Commissioners have approved the appointment of John Curatola to the Haddonfield Auxiliary Police effective January 2, 2015. During the meeting they expressed their gratitude to the Auxiliary Police for their many hours of volunteer services.

Full-Time Police Officers Appointments
The Commissioners have approved the appointment of Brian Catts to the Haddonfield Police Department effective January 2 , 2015.

Cash Management Plan
The Commissioners authorized the adoption of a Cash Management Plan pursuant to the Local Fiscal Affairs Law, which requires the Borough to adopt said plan, to deposit public funds pursuant to the plan, into interest bearing accounts.

Authorization to Designate Official Newspaper for Legal Notices
The Commissioners announced that The Retrospect has been designated as the official weekly newspaper for the legal advertising for Haddonfield. The Courier Post will be the alternate official newspaper for legal advertising.

Approved Appointments
The Commissioners approved the following appointments to the Camden County Community Development Board of Directors from January 1 through December 31, 2015:

  • Mayor Jeff Kasko
  • Representative: Steve Walko

The Commissioners have approved the following appointments:

  • Deborah Marchand, Library of Trustees, which expires December 2019.
  • Mary Eklund, Library of Trustees, which expires December 2019.
  • Cheryl Moskovitz, Library of Trustees, which expires December 2019.

Website Design & Development Professional Services Agreement
Borough of Haddonfield has authorized Revize Software Systems to enter into a contract
to provide Website Design & Development services for the Borough’s website.

Bid Authorization
The following bid was authorized for receipt by the Borough:

  • For Library Addition/Renovation – No. 2 to be received on or before Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 10 a.m. in Room 103 of the Haddonfield Borough Hall.
  • For Temporary Labor Services to be received on or before Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 10 a.m. in Room 103 of the Haddonfield Borough Hall

Environmental Commission Vacancy
Haddonfield residents are invited to apply for the Environmental Commission. The Commission is established for the protection, development or use of natural resources, including water resources, located within the territorial limits of the Borough of Haddonfield. Residents are invited to apply online at:http://www.haddonfieldnj.org/borough_volunteer-board.php. There is no deadline to submit applications.

January Sidewalk Sale
Celebrate the start of 2015 with four days of great specials and deals during Haddonfield’s 6th Annual Winter Sidewalk Sale taking place Thursday, January 22 through Sunday, January 25. The sale will be held both in-store and outdoors – making it a true ‘sidewalk’ sale event. New this year is a complimentary heated trolley that will be making regular, continuous stops at each street in the Downtown on Saturday, January 24 and Sunday, January 25 from noon – 4 p.m. This will allow visitors to travel in warmth from one place to the next while taking in the sights and sounds of the beautiful Downtown. The Winter Sidewalk Sale hours are: Thursday, January 22 and Friday, January 23 from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.; Saturday, January 24 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.; and Sunday, January 25 from noon – 5 p.m. Check with the individual stores for their exact hours. Haddonfield’s streets and pathways will remain decorated with the sparkling white lights – providing a winter wonderland feel and a festive atmosphere for shoppers until Saturday, February 14. ‘Haddonfield Uncorked’
A new town-wide event is taking place on Saturday, February 7 from 1 – 4 p.m. The event features New Jersey bottled wines as yet another option to purchase and enjoy while in Haddonfield – and is a perfect pairing to the many Valentine’s Day specials and promotions that shops throughout the Downtown will be offering in anticipation of the February 14 holiday. So whether you seek traditional gifts like wine, chocolates and flowers; a romantic spot for dinner and wine for two; or unique gifts that are a little less traditional, it can be found in Downtown Haddonfield – during ‘Haddonfield Uncorked’ or any day of the week. Haddonfield is a “dry” town by law; however, thanks to a recently approved Alcohol Management Plan for Retail Outlets prepared by the Garden State Wine Growers Association, shop owners in Haddonfield can now lease a portion of their business to one of the area’s local wine growers for the sale of Jersey-grown wines by the bottle to the business’s patrons. Haddonfield’s Rules for Parking
The Commissioners want to remind residents of the rules regarding parking your vehicles.
All cars parked in driveways must not block the public sidewalks.
If you must park on the street, please call the police department at 429-3000 and let them know you will be parking your car there overnight.

Haddonfield’s Rules for Dog Walking
The Commissioners want to remind residents of the rules regarding walking your dogs and disposing property of their waste:
All dogs must be on a leash when being walked on public streets; the Crows Woods Nature Preserve and in any park area; no pet is permitted to roam un-leashed in Haddonfield
Pet owners or anyone who takes their pet for walks must properly dispose of their pet’s waste by picking it up, wrapping it and either placing it in the trash or flushing it unwrapped down the toilet.

Residents are reminded to sign up to receive important e-mail notices, reminders, and alerts from the Borough. This system can be used to alert those who are registered to impending deadlines (for the payment of taxes, pet license fee, etc.), and to public safety situations.
