An Open House is scheduled for the evening of November 20th! It will be held from 7:30pm to 9:00pm in the auditorium of Borough Hall.
At this meeting we invite all residents and business owners to tell us what aspects of sustainability are most important to you, what tools the Borough should use to become more sustainable and more! As an Open House, you are welcome to come and go at any time. However, beginning at 7:30pm there will be a 20 minute presentation to introduce the project, talk about sustainability actions the Borough has already taken and what to expect in the Green Building & Environmental Sustainability Element. LEAF COLLECTION
Leaf Season began November 3rd.
Leaves raked into the gutter or street are in violation of State Stormwater Laws. In addition, foul weather causes vegetation in the streets to clog storm drains resulting in flooding. Early snow mixes with leaves and can create traffic hazards and loss in parking. Leaves in this condition are extremely difficult to remove. There will be a “No Tolerance” policy for leaves found placed in the street or gutter. Tickets will be issued to the homeowner regardless as to whether it was the homeowner or landscaper that placed them there.
Each Day during leaf season the Borough website will post which trash route leaves are being picked up. This enables residents to rake closer to the collection date.

World War II Veterans Remembrance Month – November
The Commissioners recognize November 2014 in Haddonfield as World War II Veterans Remembrance Month, and ask all residents to express their gratitude to our World War II Veterans and their families for a lifetime of service and sacrifice.
Bid Request – Auditorium Sound & Audio Visual Equipment
The Commissioners have authorized the Borough Clerk to advertise for the receipt of sealed bids for Auditorium Sound & Audio Visual Equipment to be received on or before December 4, 2014 at 10 a.m. in Room 103 of the Haddonfield Borough Hall.
Bid Rejection – Library Addition/Renovations
The Commissioners have rejected a bid for Library Addition/Renovations as all submitted bids were over budget. It is anticipated that the bid will be put back out to bid in early December.
Free Parking During Holiday Season in the Downtown
The Commissioners announced that free parking will be available to everyone visiting and shopping in the Downtown from Friday, November 28 (Black Friday) through Thursday, December 25, 2014 (Christmas Day).
There will be no parking on Kings Highway from Grove Street/Potter Street to the Port Authority Transit Corp. Bridge between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. Monday through Friday for the month of December.

Small Business Weekend & Candlelight Shopping
The Commissioners ask all residents to join us in showing support for small business owners by patronizing Downtown Haddonfield retailers during the Small Business Weekend – Friday, November 28, Saturday, November 29 and Sunday, November 30 – and throughout the 2014 Holiday shopping season. Small Business Weekend is dedicated to supporting small businesses during one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year. Haddonfield, NJ invites everyone to ‘shop small’ at their favorite Haddonfield shop or restaurant – and help fuel the local economy.
Merchants will be going all out to make this shopping experience extra special with incentives, trunk shows and other promotions. Or, create your own sale with town-wide gift certificates, which will be available at the Information Center at a 10% discount. Friday, November 28 is also the kick-off to the Holiday Season and Candlelight Shopping. A tree lighting ceremony will take place at the Borough Holiday Tree at Library Point at 6:30 p.m. followed by a parade with Santa to Kings Court. Santa will sit in the Gazebo from 6 – 9 p.m. Musical performances will take place throughout the evening and horse-drawn carriage rides will be available for all from 6 – 9 p.m. Haddonfield’s beautiful downtown will be decorated throughout the month of December with sparkling white lights and glowing trees; and the streets of Haddonfield will be lined with luminaries on Friday nights during Candlelight Shopping – providing holiday warmth and a festive atmosphere for shoppers.
On Small Business Saturday, November 29, shoppers can enjoy entertainment by DJ Frank Staff throughout the afternoon from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. at two locations – Shops at 116 and Kings Court. There will also be horse-drawn carriage rides from noon – 3 p.m. Many of Haddonfield’s businesses will have discounts and special offers exclusively for Small Business Weekend. First Night Haddonfield – Wednesday, December 31
Ring in 2015 during First Night Haddonfield, a family-friendly, alcohol-free evening of fun in Downtown Haddonfield on Wednesday, December 31 from 6 p.m. – midnight. First Night features a spectacular New Year’s Eve celebration complete with live entertainment, fireworks, activities and fun for all ages. Other festivities taking place during the six-hour event includes comedy, magic, children’s entertainment, food and dancing. This year First Night Haddonfield plans to offer something for every member of the family to enjoy – with more than 40 performances in 20 different venues on Kings Highway. Parking regulations in the Borough normally prohibit parking on public streets from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m.; however, during and after First Night activities residents and guests may park on the streets between midnight and 6 a.m. on January 1, 2015.
New Businesses in Downtown Haddonfield
There are more than a dozen new reasons you should visit Downtown Haddonfield – all of them unique, eclectic and a perfect fit to this already award-winning shopping and dining destination. Haddonfield’s Rules for Parking
The Commissioners want to remind residents of the rules regarding parking your vehicles.
- All cars parked in driveways must not block the public sidewalks.
- If you must park on the street, please call the police department at 429-3000 and let them know you will be parking your car there overnight.
Haddonfield’s Rules for Dog Walking
The Commissioners want to remind residents of the rules regarding walking your dogs and disposing property of their waste:
- All dogs must be on a leash when being walked on public streets; the Crows Woods Nature Preserve and in any park area; no pet is permitted to roam un-leashed in Haddonfield
- Pet owners or anyone who takes their pet for walks must properly dispose of their pet’s waste by picking it up, wrapping it and either placing it in the trash or flushing it unwrapped down the toilet.
