Arbor Day Celebrations
On April 25, 2008 the Shade Tree Commission and Borough Commissioners, with the help of Haddonfield’s kindergarten students, planted the annual Arbor Day tree at the corner of Kings Highway East and Chestnut Street. This tree was donated to the Borough by the Freedley family and was also planted in dedication to Robert Freedley Mr. Freedley was the Chairman of Haddonfield’s Shade Tree Commission from 1966 until he passed away in 2007.
In addition there were six (6) more trees planted along Kings Highway in dedication to individuals or organizations.

• Howard Frazier, at 16 Kings Highway East, in commemoration of his 25 years of service as a Borough Employee in the Public Works Department
• Margaret Bynum, at 19 Kings Highway East, in loving memory by Grace Church
• Richard B. Schwab, at 26 and 132 Kings Highway E, in appreciation of his 28 years of service as Borough Administrator
• The Haddonfield Garden Club, at 101 Kings Highway East, in appreciation of their 100 years of service
• Michael Russo, at 123 Kings Highway East, in loving memory by his father, Vincent P. Russo
