CREATIVE WRITING CLASS
Mabel Kay has a new instructor (personally Ash is my favorite instructor, no offense to the others (for those who do not know, Ash is my teenager)). Ash will be hosting a Creative Writing Program from 3-4pm (March 1, 8, 15, 22, 29). Get reacquainted with your inner creativity, whether you used to write or always wanted to but never did. Each week, Ash will offer prompts and exercises for practicing your creative writing. You can choose to share at the end of each class or not – whatever you are comfortable with. At the end, if the group is interested, we can compile some or all writings into a booklet to keep. Attendance at all five sessions is not required, come when you can. Replies appreciated but not required. It will be a bit of an experiment…but please come experiment with us

SUNDAY MARCH 19 2-5PM
Apocalyptic Shakespeare Company’s performance of King Leir and His Three Daughters. This is a version of the King Lear story that predates Shakespeare's play. It is believed he used elements from it when he wrote his King Lear. It is very interesting to compare the two plays and see what Shakespeare kept, what he added, and what he changed. One of his biggest changes was to delete the happy ending where Cordella and Leir win the war and Leir becomes King again.
