Statement from the Board of Commissioners

On the evening of May 7, 2020, the Board of Commissioners was notified of yet another positive case within the Borough of Haddonfield: a male patient in his forties.  This brings our total number of COVID-19 patients to 28.

The County Health Department and the NJ Department of Health are the agencies responsible for conducting investigations into each case, including contact tracing. While many have asked for additional information related to patient comorbidities & quarantines over the last several weeks, the Borough does not receive this information because it would violate laws related to patient privacy.

The Commissioners are acutely aware of the stress our community is undergoing, and the burdens placed upon our residents & business owners as we grapple with this pandemic.  We also recognize that our Borough is filled with many people who are essential, frontline employees, including a large number of healthcare professionals, all of whom put their lives at risk to keep the larger community safe & healthy.  We ask that you think of them & all those who are battling COVID-19 as we begin the process of adjusting to warmer weather and updated directives from the State of New Jersey and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

We thank everyone for the many expressions of community spirit & gratitude that we see throughout the Borough each day, and for your efforts to adhere to CDC guidelines such as social distancing & wearing face coverings.  Please continue to check our website for updates: www.haddonfieldnj.org
